Oh, it's worth seeing, and the special effects are done well. But it's the writing and the characters that make the first one special, and that's absent in the second one. Good eye candy, though.

Aw diddums.... $7.11 for a US Gallon at the petrol station I used yesterday. And that was regular. It would have been $7.68 for premium.

I'll stick to the $3.359/gallon since two of my cars have 17+ gallon tanks on them.

Here in the midwest the powerplants still use coal burning plants (and refuse to upgrade to cleaner burning systems) so you are basically still burning fossil fuels to run a vehicle. You have exchanged a multi-point pollution source for a single point pollution source. California which does not generate its own power gets its sources from both clean (hydro... I believe as far as Quebec) and dirty plants (fossil fuel... Texas and possibly nuclear... ie disposal of spent rods). The truth of the matter while these places are trying to clean up their act (the cities mentioned) they are merely transfering the pollution problem to other parts of the country. Very few of the cities mentioned where this is sold produce 100% of their own power. Some clean some dirty. But in either case the are feeding on other parts of the country (as large cities tend to do). If everyone in these cities were to get one of these cars could you imagine the energy production needed. What would happen if close to a million people plugged in their charges (which would likely happen in the evenings as people come home and need to recharge)? What normally be non-peak times for powerplants would then become a 24-hour full output system. I'm still waiting for the Back To The Future Delorian the runs and cleanly generates power using garbage. Now that would be an advancement instead of rehashing old technologies.

And at 100K USD, it'll clean out your pockets too. Or, to push the envelope, Tesla is a good name, given the sticker shock. I can't believe GM recalled and destroyed the EV1's after CA rescinded on the zero emissions law. It seems American auto companies don't have a clue. Marc

Yeah, my dream is to have that electic motor system put into this: http://rockymoore.com/randomthoughts/archive/2006/03/18/686.aspx[^] Then have the accelerator hooked up to the sound system so that when I punched it, the sound system (speakers under the hood) would make those awesome V8 sounds. Also, it would be nice to have an electronic suspension system that could make the car rock form side-to-side to look like the car has a radical cam in it ;)
