I'd wager that would be the case. And while I don't believe in God, I do believe in your right to talk about what you believe in, so I'm one of the crazy fools that voted you up to balance things out. :-D

Thank you! :-) There's a lot of intolerance going on from all camps (Christians included), and it saddens me. How can we hope to live in harmony with each other if we don't come to understand each other's point of view? We can't live in peace or solve the problems in the world unless we work together, and we can't work together unless we understand each other. I work with Atheists, Buddhists, Christians, Jews, Muslims, and Pantheists in my community towards peace, justice, and harmony, and I can say from firsthand observation that censoring discussion of people's viewpoints (religious or otherwise) builds friction rather than alleiviating it.

Exactly where in the bible does it say the unbelievers will go to hell? Marc

That's the sad part. Most people don't want to understand another's view, they want other people to believe their view. Until that changes, it'll always be the case.

*grin* At risk of taking a troll seriously ( the original poster, I mean ), the Bible says that belief in God is no big deal, because even the devil believes.

"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter." - Matthew 7:21
"But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. 32 "All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; 33 and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. 34 "Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.' 37 "Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38 And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' 40 "The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.' 41"Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; 43 I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.' 44 "Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?' 45 "Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' 46 "These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." - Matthew 25:31-46
Yeah, it's amusing to me that anti Christian statements are allowed to be totally ignorant, and no-one cares. Any pro Christian statement is presupposed to be ignorant, on the other hand.

according to the OP, that means the devil has a guaranteed ticket to heaven. he didn't specify that you had to believe anything in particular about god, only in his mere existence.

Pithy quotes not withstanding, people believe / refuse to believe all kinds of things, and for all sorts of reasons. Coming to grips with my reasons for not buying into Hinduism doesn't really help me much in understanding the gal whose folks took her to church every Sunday and beat the crap out of her every Monday.

I think the proper way of stating that would be there are so many variations of sects that you even through JC you are guarenteed to be led astray. They can't all be right, but the only thing they agree on completely is that you are damned to Hell if you listen to anyone else. Therefore by commonality of teaching, everyone is damned to Hell.

I guess it's all a matter of having kernel-mode access, or if (like the latest VxWorks) an RTP is blocked off, or if they have implemented some sort of brick-wall partitioning... :~

That sounds alot like the santa claus fairy tale, parents telling their kids that santa claus will only give christmas presents to children who believe in him.

Isn't it amazing that nearly all people give up believing in Santa Claus by the time they're teenagers yet refuse to place god in the same category even when the argument and evidence is the same?
