I don't know why, and I've given up tring to figure it out. I don't know of any free php+mysql hosting. A simple google search ought to pop something up.

[edit] D'oh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't read the free part![/edit] Firstly, don't care about the forum ratings. Frankly, I don't understand why they are there in the first place. They are useful for articles, however. As for a webhost, I am using www.powweb.com. It's not the best or fastest webhost around but for the price, its a real bargain. Check them out! If you just need it to test code, try setting up your own WAMP server on your machine. I did it for a while, and it was no big deal at all. WAMP = windows + apache + mysql + php There's a package available called "appserv" that installs everything you need. there are, of course, other similar packages available. That will save you money by not requiring you to actually host a domain, etc etc.... Be aware that web hosting places are sometimes hesitant to update to the latest and greatest versions of apache, mysql, and/or php. -- modified at 8:35 Monday 21st August, 2006
