Oh gee, when does he ever stop?

When was the last time you poured some wine for you and your sweetie and went out on the front porch to watch the geometry frolic on the lake?--Rebecca M. Riordan, Designing Effective Database Systems

I haven't heard him say it, but like any good Bible-thumping American, you should have no trouble interpreting his recent speech. 9/5/06 - Bin laden and his terrorists' allies have made their intentions as clear as Lenin and Hitler before them. The question is: Will we listen? Will we pay attention to what these evil men say? 3/13/02 - I don't know where is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him... I truly am not that concerned about him. 9/13/01 - The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him.

If [God] knows what we are going to do then we have no free will and are just characters in a play written by him. Without free will, morality for humans makes no sense. Without free will and morality, any sort of punishment or reward system loses any justification. Heaven and hell would be places where [God] could watch the souls he created, predestined just for eternal happiness or agony. - Mark Thomas

Uhhh...I still don't see anything that equates to "be afraid....be very afraid". The first quote says we need to fight them...not be afraid of them (as the left apparently is).

Relating to your post above, you'll notice that those links are Democrats attributing fear-mongering to Bush, even though no real evidence of that is there. There might be a few things that people who are scared of the world interpret as "scary" and therefore "fear-mongering", but that attribute belongs moreso to the listener as I've never interpreted Bush's tone as intended to induce fear. In fact...He keeps the "scariest" stuff secret.

The left is afraid? It's the right that's doing the fear mongering and is willing to give up our rights in exchange for safety.

Conservatives have confronted and dealt with the threat posed to us. The giving up of rights claim is fear-mongering by the left. The fear-mongering attributed to Bush, as you have just demonstrated, is unfounded.

Even similar words. Pointing out the threat that terrorism poses doesn't count, since it's obviously valid. If you don't think so, then you have a very short memory. I'm curious about what you actually believe qualifies as "fear-mongering".

I'm a long time Republican (going back to the Regan era) and I find President Bush's use of "threats" to slice away our fundemntal liberties thoroughly scary. So, it isn't just "them lefties" who're concerned, bucko!

I'm a long time Republican (going back to the Regan era) and I find President Bush's use of "threats" to slice away our fundemntal liberties thoroughly scary. So, it isn't just "them lefties" who're concerned, bucko!

If you recall, Reagan painted "The Evil Empire" in a similar (and equally justified) light. Although in Bush's case, we were actually attacked in a very significant way, thereby justifying any and all rhetoric about "threats". But I am still curious as to what you believe constitutes fear-mongering on his part, what civil liberties you believe you have lost and why you believe that referring to the obviously real threat of eminating from the middle east puts Bush in a different boat than FDR, Wilson, Lincoln or any of the founding fathers who all strove to fight enemies of American Freedom.

Oh c'mon, you know President Bush has been playing the monster-under-the-bed card way too much to justify far too many things...including the erosion of your liberties and due process rights.

look, as far as you and others of the same ilk are concerned there is nothing he could do right. if he let up on the terrorist focus and something happened there is no question in my mind that you'd be one of the first posting, "instead of [you pick something to insert here] he should have been doing something to keep this from happening." point in fact, he's doing his job and doing it a damn site better than his predecessors, including Clinton, his father, Reagan and Carter - all presidents that fiddled while we were attacked and made 9-11 possible through inaction.
