I think one of the main points to come out of this is Jews, like every other religion, have things in our past we'd rather forget. However, our religion obligates us to question everything and change what is wrong. I'm certainly no expert and I have no idea if those quotes are genuine or not but they bear no relation, whatever, to modern Jewish thinking. Score 1.0 is being deliberatley provocative. Our mistake, if there is one, is to rise to that. He should be treated as he appears: as a truculant child with nothing better to do than to goad adults who should know better.

The mature and correct thing to do in such a situation would be to clarify your position on the text he quoted out of context, for the benefit of those of us who don't know much about your religion. Just set the record straight and move on. No need to start an argument, since it accomplishes nothing. But do set the record straight. But why did you feel you HAD to stoop to his level? What is the difference then between you and that "white-supremcist (sic) (check info in stormfront), 16, and is homeschooled yet he claims his parents don't care about his education?"

I was just doing what he did--take things out of context. I did that on purpose. I wanted it to be an example to him of why you shouldn't take things out of context. I'm sorry if my lesson was not clear. he does not make me uncomfortable. he's more of an annoying fly that I finally tried to swat. I feel sorry for him that his views are so narrow-minded. Yes, I know some people may say that I am as well. I feel sorry for the rest of the country that someone who is obviously bright but (what I feel) is very misguided will part of adult society in a couple years. I do not feel I have anymore rights than anyone else on the board because I am female, Jewish or because I have brown hair. Finally, yes I am older than 16, went to a public school, but my parents did not care about my eduation. I think I turned out just fine. I just hope the same for 1.0
