Turning jpgs into video
-
I have a bunch of jpg images that I want to string together into a video and I'm looking for a tool to do it, preferably something in the free price range! I tried using the animation package in GIMP but it didn't seem to be able to produce anything that I could actually playback (problems with encoders). Ideally, I'd like to produce something that can be run in Media Player. Any suggestions? Thanks!
You can try Microsoft Photo Story. It does a pretty good job. https://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/default.mspx

The only program I've found that does a bang up job of converting images into a movie for timelapse etc is VideoMach from here[^] It is nag free for a while, cheap to buy, and solid. Cheers!

I use microsoft video SDKs and a jpeg library.... load a frame, turn it to a bitmap, store it to the video.

You may use "DVD Photo Slideshow Professional" from http://www.dvd-photo-slideshow.com[^] , this simple tool is what you are seeking. I think.

Good point. I'd never played with it and didn't even realize it exists :-O. I usually leave stuff like that out when I install Windows. Looks like it'll do the job. Thanks.
It was more than I expected from a free Software from Windows. Really a nice tool. If you have some good codecs, it will work fine with them
