I don't know I just bought it at Toys R Us today. their were only two left after I purchased that one. If you paypal me $300 I'll ship it to you.:-D Normally, the phone orders you talk to a rep or speak into the phone for your address, then touch pad for your credit card. It might not work out of the USA.

Well, I might as well go and check my nearest Toys R Us tomorrow(or tuesday, university on monday...). If not, I guess $300 is cheaper than the LEGO website (uhh, thats canadian, right??;)). But Ive been wanting this thing for a while now. Dont know how fun itll be, on the lego site it says ages 10+, so must be fun for 10 year olds, and then the interest decreases as the age goes up. Until it hits a programmer I suppose (hope).

I actually bought it for $249 but with tax and shipping, yada yada. I have the 8527 model which looks like I can build the humaniod but their are no directions on how to build it. It only has directions for the Tribot, which is good enough to learn the pieces and its programing environment. I am just trying to figure out how I will be able to use C# with this thing. I like it so far, its really cool.

Anyone else into the new Mindstorms NXT? I just purchased mine today. I forget what I read about the programing languages that can be used with it. It looks like C++ but I am hoping that C# or Java can be used also. I really needed something with sensors to advance some of my AI code I am working on. w00t! http://mindstorms.lego.com/Overview/MTR_AlphaRex.aspx[^] w:cool::cool:t!

I remembering seeing something on coding4Fun about a sdk and starter kits in C# for the Lego Mindstorm. I think the beta Robotics Studio will work also. coding4Fun starter kits http://msdn.microsoft.com/coding4fun/lego/default.aspx Robotics Studio http://msdn.microsoft.com/robotics/

I can only get it for $349CAD. At least thats the price both(lego and toys r us) websites state. I'll check out the store first though. And the model, the one i was looked at is the same, 8527. Dont know what i'll get if its available in store, but ill have to go and see. Thx for the offer though ;) And I really hope I can use C#(or any other .Net language for that matter) with this...

Thanks. I also found the instructions for the humanoid. It's included in the NXT software.

I have the original mindstorms kit. My son and I had a blast for a few months then ran out of things to build. Unfortunately, the cool expansion kits cost a lot of money.

I was going to buy one from Amazon with the gift vouchers I got from work, but I just haven't got the time at the moment :( I know the robotics studio works with NXT and you can use C#. I watched a demo of it on Channel9 where they had it being controlled by a xBox 360 controller... They look very cool! But, I don't know how much I would use it...

My son and I just bought one. We built a little robot in about an hour, programmed it in less, by then it was fully running our little program. Very cool, highly recommended! p.s. you can program it with C#. Check out Microsoft's free Visual Studio for Robotics.
