Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I wasn't sure where to put it: I am running Windows NT 4 Workstation, SP6a, and IE6.0. I recently installed onto a new hardrive to have enough space for Visual Studio .NET. Before this new installation, I had only had SP4, and IE 5.5. Ok, now my question, when I right click on items in the start menu, no context menu shows up. Also, Windows Explorer is archaic, with no address bar, etc. It looks just like before the services packs and IE install. Everything worked before my fresh install, but I can't remember what I had installed to update this. Once, again, sorry if this is in the wrong place. I don't ever remember having a right clickable context menu for the start menu under NT 4 with any version of IE or Service Pack. joshkoppang wrote: Also, Windows Explorer is archaic, with no address bar, etc. Don't know about this as I turn them off anyway on all versions of windows. I am positive that something I had installed allowed me to do that. One instance that comes to mind is when I installed MS Office (when I could right click), and then right clicked all of the apps and sent them to the desktop. Is there any other add-ons or anything for NT from Microsoft? (Like a plus pack or something) There's a fine line between confidence and arrogance.

There was definitely support for the right click context menu in programs under NT4. Also for icons on the Task Bar but I am sure nothing that did this from the Start->Programs menu. I can't remember if there was a Plus pack or anything else for NT4, sorry. I think the problem is that you want the desktop update for Windows NT. That is what gives you the "active desktop" capabilities included in later versions of Windows. As far as I know, you have to install IE4 with the desktop update option, and then upgrade to IE6. IE4 was the only version that actually included the update libraries needed for the additional functionality that you are used to. My suggested operating system installation path for you would be: - NT4 - IE4 - IE6 - SP6a -- Paul "I drank... WHAT?"
