{some projects} {about me}Have you tried Putty[^]. There are both FTP and secure FTP clients available.

{some projects} {about me}The server is lame too. I was debugging some client-side FTP code and wondering why the hell it was stalling. Until I realized it was totally Filezilla's fault.
And I get on my knees and pray. We don't get fooled again.

{some projects} {about me}I havn't noticed a problem, but then again I'm using the last of version 2. Havn't tried version 3 yet but last I heard it was still in Alpha stage, just getting the UI up and running etc.
If you're stuck in a rut: 1) Consult the documentation* 2) Google it 3) Ask a sensible question 4) Try an ancient ritualistic knowledge summoning (:badger::badger::badger:) dance :jig: 5) Phone :bob: * - If the documentation is MSDN > 6.0 then forget it!

{some projects} {about me}I've noticed similar issues but it never totally freezes for me - just stalls, pauses, restarts, completes. I too look forward to others suggestions. :)

If [God] knows what we are going to do then we have no free will and are just characters in a play written by him. Without free will, morality for humans makes no sense. Without free will and morality, any sort of punishment or reward system loses any justification. Heaven and hell would be places where [God] could watch the souls he created, predestined just for eternal happiness or agony. - Mark Thomas

Yes. I, too, am interested to know if there is a suitable replacement.

It's open source. What have you expected. Buy everything from Microsoft and you'll have no problems.

{some projects} {about me}I'm running version 2.2.27 and never noticed any problems, but then again I don't think that I stretch it to the limits.

{some projects} {about me}I recently discovered NetDrive: it maps an ftp server to a drive letter, pretty neat . Saves you $200 on zend studio professional (coz the standard edition has no built in ftp support, bastards! X| ). It's from Novell, but apparantly it's not supposed to be free, however it's downloadable here and there. If you insist on paying for it, you could get WebDrive, which is the same thing, but costs $55 I believe :omg:, which I think is on the expensive side for such a tool.

{some projects} {about me}I've used filezilla but recently started trying ftpgenius from zipgenius suite. it's a bit bloated, but not bad in operation so far. Can't say I have fully tried it, I am searching for possibilities too and the search isn't done. http://www.zipgenius.it/eng/index.php[^] (clickety police inspected) ;)
