has anybody else noticed that the newer versions of filezilla are complete crap? it constantly has file xfer errors and stalls and then freezes on the file xfer queue and has to be restarted ? it used to be the best ftp app around for windows but now im seriously looking for something else to use ... any suggestions? :sigh:

Yes. I, too, am interested to know if there is a suitable replacement.

I'm running version 2.2.27 and never noticed any problems, but then again I don't think that I stretch it to the limits.

I recently discovered NetDrive: it maps an ftp server to a drive letter, pretty neat . Saves you $200 on zend studio professional (coz the standard edition has no built in ftp support, bastards! X| ). It's from Novell, but apparantly it's not supposed to be free, however it's downloadable here and there. If you insist on paying for it, you could get WebDrive, which is the same thing, but costs $55 I believe :omg:, which I think is on the expensive side for such a tool.

I've used filezilla but recently started trying ftpgenius from zipgenius suite. it's a bit bloated, but not bad in operation so far. Can't say I have fully tried it, I am searching for possibilities too and the search isn't done. http://www.zipgenius.it/eng/index.php[^] (clickety police inspected) ;)

I'm using 2.2.28 with no problems, I have found problems in the past, so now when I upgrade I keep a zip of the old installation, just in case. But I have head no problems for well over a year.
