I'm not sure which I find more irritating, Henize's post in the Soapbox or the fact that it's still there . I posted a comment[^] there but I think it's worth reposting here: if someone defaces my house, I clean it up. This place belongs to all of us. I'm fanatical about cleaning out unwanted posts from the Awasu forums. It sends a strong message that posts are gone and their account deleted, sometimes minutes after the post is made. I can just imagine them trying to submit a second post only to find that their account has disappeared

Doesn't or isn't there a moderator around I have moderated other forums and such things get removed immediately. If it isn't explicit in language you can lock a thread or just flat out modify the content. At the very least you can contact the poster if you aren't sure and ask them to revise or explain what they said/meant or even have them appologize. But 90% of the time it is too late to take back a suspect statement and the most a mod can do is post there dislike/disagreements with a topic and close it by locking it.

You don't see a WTF in spawning hundreds of threads ?? Or using code found on places like codeproject.com in production applications ... Code that is most likely untested, or barely test, more often than not, not made by reputable developers/development groups/etc ?? .... Wow ...---WTF

Spam posts can be and are deleted fairly quickly so the facility is definitely there. I was just wondering they are treated like that but this post was left in place. I think that while the Soapbox was intended to be a place where anything goes, until recently people have not really abused it. But there's a feeling that whatever goes on in there doesn't need to be moderated which I disagree with.

The funny thing is, I didn't bother to go back to see what set him off :-) Man, you really pushed his buttons. He was definitely justified :laugh::laugh:

How can it be your fault though? I mean I know what you are saying. But it really isn't. The guy does seem obsessed with swearing though.

No. He should be permanently banned. But the post (and its replies) should remain there, as part of history. Removing it (from a forum like the soapbox) is more akin to censorship. Like I said, if the guy had then gone on a rampage posting crap under different accounts, that would have been different and those posts I would have supported removing swiftly.

Well I might have missed the removal but there is still plenty enough of the rubbish posts lingering around here. Most not near as angry and suspect as the message of this topic that one really needs to go. This fellow has replied to me once and it was fairly off topic/unrelated to the subject of my post. I just ignored it why should I give any attention to someone who didn't read or didn't understand what I said. Either way the reply to me was not anywhere near nasty or rude as the particular posting referenced here

The worst part is that it feels like it's my fault. I knew he was borderline before I started the last exchange of message to him just prior to his total mental breakdown. I just couldn't help myself. :sigh:

Ah well you shouldn't push people like that it doesn't gain you or anyone else anything but I do indeed know the feeling or desire to do so... :)

Uuhhh, was you *threatening* to put on a skirt and make-up enough to push him over the edge? Or did you actually do it? ;P But anyway since it's your fault, I hope you've taken it upon yourself to send a warning memo to all schools within a 100 mile radius of him. :~
