I don't know about anyone else, but when I'm programming, I love to crank some music. Whether it's Punk , Rock or Rap, I don't care. Music gets me and my brain going! How about everyone else? The All American Rejects expecially! YEAH!!!!

The Weepies and Crooked Still. I make fewer coding errors with baroque strings vibrating my gray brain. Oh, yeah.

Vai, Satch, Yngwie and EVH are top of my list. Virtuoso guitars stimulate my programming centers. Just found a metal band called Dragonforce that I am into right now Big into creating my own stations on Pandora.com for this.

I like listening to the soothing voice of Maaya Sakamoto or tunes created by none other than Yoko Kanno. I've found that I can focus longer and maintain larger contiguous thoughts in my head while developing to the appropriate music.

My, my... I work from home...no music, no TV, no interruptions, no sounds except the chair squeeking as I move closer and closer to my finished code....and of, course the ability to shout out a few nice words at which ever code language I happened to be contracted to code in and how it is inept at performing even some of the simplest object calls... Outside of that, I love to listen to the SWOOSH of the shaft, followed by the SMACK of the golf ball going down the fairway, and of course the eventuall ploppety plop of the ball going in the hole. Fla_Golfr, curtis.

lyrics sometimes distract me, so I usually play some trance, industrial, or anything with a fast, repetative rhythm. "They can torture me, break my bones, kill me, but they will not have my obedience." -Mohandas K. Gandhi.

Currently volume 3 of the Hyperion complete Schumann songs. Mostly lots of Bach. Concentrates the mind. Wagner or similar on a Friday afternoon. And yes, my degree was in Music.
