those are great computers you have. I'm impressed with my XPS because it's a laptop. You really can't get better performance, although I could have gone to the 2.33 processor (for an extra 500 bucks), and I could have gone with 4 gigs of ram, for an extra 2500 bucks ... not worth it.

Instead of getting two 7600GT's, get a single 7950GX2. It's SLI on a single card, and faster than the paired 7600's.

That's WAY overpriced for what you're getting... In fact, they should give you a discount after putting that AOL crap on your system.

We got some new servers to play with at work, 4 of them. We got some new babies at work to play with ;P http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-SHW6UR-Harwich-Server-Platform/dp/B0009SS4XS With 4 Xeon MP CPU's (Don't know the speed yet) 16GB Of memory and 1TB of storage. Ok, I have to admit its no good for games, the on-board VGA adapter sucks and there's no expansion slot to drop in a PCIex adapter or an AGP adapter. But well, who needs it when you can have 20 instances of VS2005 running with biztalk and mssql in the background doing "some work" for the informationworkers.

you can, even from a laptop. If you had the 2.33 you could outperform the laptops we have put together. Those are the machines under my control, I can't always tell you what we put together for customers. But just remember alienware is a regular purchase location. And they are Dell now anyhow, we have done several dual core, RAID0 laptops.

Indeed, make sure you get rid of norton and install trend micro or something, because norton is one big problem causing piece of *** (I meant software).

Again, my new machine is a laptop. Good luck finding one of those with a 3.5Ghz processor ... or a 19inch display!

Which models are they? I'm looking for a RAID'ed laptop myself and the only Alienware ones I saw were the single-cored Turions. Or did you build them yourself? I'm having a hard time finding a dual-core RAID'ed machine, the only thing I can find is the XPS M2010 behemoth (and some of the Toshiba Qosmio's but they use 5400rpm disks).
