Most of the IT companies are offering flexible office timings. But there’s a preferable office time like 8.30 AM - 5.30 PM. Are you really keeping the office time? It’s hard to leave office by 5.30 but are you used to reach office on time? BTW Our office timing is 8.30 – 5.30 I usually reach here by 9 or 9.15 AM :)

I have no set in stone hours. This can be good and bad. There are times where I go several months in a row where I have to work 60 to 80 hours a week exempt from any overtime pay. At times this is frustrating but I do like what I do.

How is it not so? If person A works until 11+ pm and you expect him/her to still come 830am the next day? Maybe a couple of days ok, but for several days this person will go down. :~

mostly 8h00,8h30 to 17h00 sometimes I do some extra at home, sometimes there's a 5 minute lunchbreak, sometimes half an hour. I had a job once where you had to work 60, 80 and even 100 hours a week, but very quicly left there to find something new. Mostly I work about 9h a day on average.  Seeing my contract is only about 39 hours a week I think they can't complain :-).  (overtime is never paid)

My current job permits me to drop in at 9:00 AM and leave at 4:30PM. I'm still unsure what the new timings will be when I start my new job in februari. I'm going to miss the timings here, that's for sure.

In Paper its 9:00 Am to 6:30 PM, but none of us leave before 8:00 PM. Sometimes with project deadlines and unexpected bugs it goes till 11:00 PM also.

6:30 a.m until 5:00 p.m., at least today. I'm in early today; I have a specification review this afternoon. My normal hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., leaving 2 hours for a run/workout at lunchtime. Our core hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. during which everyone is supposed to be here. You can schedule your arrival/leave time around that as you wish.

It really depends on the work. I usually come in after I wake up. That's relevant because I hate alarm clocks and don't use em'. If there's a deadline looming I'll most likely wake early thinking about it and head in between 7 and 9. If I'm in good shape or we're between release and new scheduling, then I'll roll in between 8 and 10. I usually work 7 hours a day, but I'm on contract and not exempt. So if I don't work an hour, I don't get paid that hour. So for that I need to keep it up. But I find 35 hours a week on average a very healthy balance. I'd hate to think I only lived for the maintenance of life. Now that doesn't mean I only code 35 hours a week, I've got projects I work on at home that fills the rest of the time. That one great project that'll let me retire early... you know the one. That one.

                                  This statement is false.
