Does that mean god is doomed to suffer from the same post-nasal drip that is driving me absolutely insane? Arrgh …. Why don’t sick people stay at home and keep their illnesses to themselves!!!!!

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. - -Lazarus Long, Time Enough For Love

Maybe deep down they love to share their misery with others. :) OTOH, maybe they are just greedy, preferring to save their sick leave for when they are well and the sun is shining and the fish are biting.

If God gives life and God takes life, doesn't that make God an Indian giver?

Perhaps they did, in your case, and carried the illness in before they were aware of any symptoms. Or perhaps you caught it from something you touched somewhere other than work. Or perhaps it's in the heating ducts and was awakened by the system's first use. Or perhaps it's airborne and you caught it outside. Or perhaps it's a mercy, and will modify your immune system in such a way that you will later be able to fight off a more serious disease. Your thinking, like most of the thinking here, seems a bit narrow. On another subject, if we all sign up with fake names today, CodeProject will be able to boast over 7,000,000 members tomorrow and Chris will be able to charge more for his ads and then he'll be able to pay for better servers that don't error out as often. I don't ever remember getting an ASP error on Google...

I admit I am one of those who goes to work. I was out almost all last week with acute bronchitis. At 2pm my boss actually sent me home because I sounded so bad. Back to the doctor tomorrow. I have been on anti-biotics long enough that I shouldn't affect anyone. I also keep cleaning my desk with Chlorox wipes and use Purell constantly.

Nope, it was my acquaintance that wanted to talk business for lunch one about a week ago.

I used to be as well. The I realized all I was doing was making matters worse for myself why somebody else profited from my misery.

Yes. Sorry. Just making sure you considered all the alternatives. By the way, nice signature. It reminds me of a character in a Kurt Vonnegut novel who said something like, "Show me a specialist, and I'll show you a man who's so scared he's dug a hole to hide in." Hope you feel better (once you're immune system is properly updated) :).

Thanks, I just hope it doesn’t run too long. I am a contractor working from home at night and stay at home dad during the day. The quicker I can shake this; the better.

I understood this sentence not as God making us looking like him but as God making us as he was seeing us. If not, shouldn't we understand Genesis 1:27 ("So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them") as God looking at the same time as male and female? :~

Any number of reasons, including:* They don't consider themselves sick.

                                • They are just plain insensitive.

                                • They do not have health insurance so they might as well be working.

                                • They do not have any "sick days."

                                • Time off from work means no pay.

I understood this sentence not as God making us looking like him but as God making us as he was seeing us. If not, shouldn't we understand Genesis 1:27 ("So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them") as God looking at the same time as male and female? :~

Because their fear to be fired if missing? Because they are not paid if they don't work? Because they believe that work as to be done?

If there really was an intelligent designer it would have made noses upside down to keep the drips in.
