Dilema whether to go to Biztalk Project or stay in ASP.NET
-
Currectly i am working in ASP.NET for past 7 months. I have been given a choice to move to Biztalk. I have undergone traning in Biztalk 2006. Will it be a right decision to switch to a new technology at this point of time in my career. If i switch to biztalk now will it help me in future. Plz help me guys... :( Mads

I'm not that familiar with Biztalk, but I'd say the answer is this: If you can deliver the product at least as well in Biztalk as in ASP.NET, then it's never a bad thing to know something, I call that 'resume food'. If your sole reason for change is your resume, and you just hope it will all work out, stay with what you know.

Don't know about the future, but BizTalk consultants are making some crazy money these days.

That's what my bro-in-law says - he is a Biztalk guy himself. Apparently for the right person, 120-150K is standard consultant pay!

I don't know what a balaclava is, but for 150K I'd wear one.

I worked on a Biztalk 2004 project a year ago and it was very difficult to configure and work with but the training I went to for 2006 shows it to be much better now. I am getting to work on a 2004 to 2006 conversion so I am pretty excited. Getting in the correct mindframe to work with Biztalk takes a bit but the payoff is in higher salaries. Besides the projects tend to be interesting.
