Who cares? Anyhow, you can't always rely on behavior. My husbad has a lot of women in his family. He's expressive and was an art major at school. When I first met him I though maybe he was gay. He was actually kind of a manho in college. Maybe he doesn't like commitment hence no visible girlfriends. But if you want to find out you could always bring up Barbara Striesand.

Nope, I ain't gay and my GADAR is real weak so here's my question ... if a guy is well settled (earns around $100K, has a house, a car etc.) and is in this 30s ... doesn't have a girlfriend and has never mentioned having one from the past ... is he gay ? -- moved at 15:29 Tuesday 5th December, 2006

Well, I'm 36, have a house, car, earn a decent income. I live alone and have had few serious girlfriends, most of which I never mention. I have several reasons/excuses/rationalizations/etc for not having found a wife. Being gay is not one of them.

I actually thought manho was short for man-whore. In fact it may exactly have been how the word originated.

Easy way to tell, put your hand on his knee and look closely into his eyes and tell him you've always wanted to "experiment" and see where it leads. Be sure to report back to us the results. ;)

Either gay or he has a two inch penis and is to embarassed to be with a woman. But seriously, you could ask him. He'll either open up and you'll become better friends or he'll get pissed at you and you won't be friends. That being said, my brother and I were friends with a gay dude in high school. When he finally came out, he thought we would be suprised. Of course we weren't. He asked us why we never brought it up. We knew he was gay, but we didn't care.

Not only is he coming out, but he's going to slap* anyone who even mutters a homophobic comment so hard their neck will look like a corkscrew  * roundhouse kicks are no longer part of his repertoire

Show him my web site and ask him if he likes me... I like him already :) Doesn't mean he's gay or not, but I could use someone like that in my life. Trying to fix him up with a girl will probably give you your answer. I wouldn't ask directly...

Read my post closely ... especially the first line. The reason I am asking is because it sometimes gets awkard during smalltalk ... and I don't want to offend him in anyway. I am married and with a kid ... now if I tell him "Someday you will have kids" ... that might not be appropriate.

If he hasn't told you that he is, he doesn't have a right to get offended. I wouldn't worry about it.

Theoretically, you wouldn't really say this to anyone if you wanted to avoid all possible awkward smalltalk - even if someone is married, that doesn't mean they want to and *can* have kids.
