Do you believe that software developers smoke more than others? I used to smoke when thinking about development(specially in design phase). Can you smoke in your office? Yours, M.Mehrdad.M

I don't think those two statements back each other up. If you smoke 2 cigarettes a day then you have not stopped smoking, you have just cut down.

Don't you think its a way too much... If you manage to have just 3 in the working hours then I think you can easily cut down the numbers outside office too.

UK offices are non smoking - woohoo! Very few people (I think only 1 or 2 out of more than 20) smoke at our place.

About the same proportion here. I can't wait for the smoking ban to come into force, I hate it.

All USA federal paid locations are supposed to be smoke-free. You may smoke 30 feet from buildings (middle of the road in most cases), and for some reason most folks give up smoking, especially around January/February.

I remember reading some article a while ago that explained how the way that nicotine bonded with certain receptors in the brain, it actually helped improve memory... but this same mechanism was also part of what made it so addictive. Nobody is allowed to smoke in their office here, and they just recently enacted a rule saying that we can't smoke within 15 feet of any entrance to a building, unless it has been declared a designated smoking area.

I've made tobacco tea before (as a pesticide though, not to drink). Smelled like the worst thing ever. Seriously, i was gagging just working with it. And i do smoke.

I don't smoke, and I don't think people should be allowed to smoke in public indoor areas (except maybe pubs).
