somehow i don't think they included the full search string. i imagine a lot of those searches also included the words "nude", "naked" or "xxx".

Well that's a given. Heck, even for the regular stuff I use those keywords. You get the best of both worlds (nude c++, xxx programming, office sluts). :-D

Some of those keywords (such as paris hilton) would implicitly include "nude" and/or "xxx". I wish they published a list of top-10 technology related searches. I bet "vista sound driver problem" or "vista drag drop problem" or "vs 2005 sp1 takes forever" would have been high on the list :-)

yeah, apparently most of the problems were to do with internationalization. Even assuming all the internationals used thier native versions and upgraded as rapidly as the us/uk/etc thier user bases are far smaller than the english version's. :)

Any idea why your link would generate the following.

                400 Bad Request
                Google Error
                Bad Request
Your client has issued a malformed or illegal request.

Is the link dependant upon some Google or browser setting?

This borders on the truly bizarre and I can only guess where the problem lies. But I get the same response if try and use Google trends for anything. I'm behind a corporate firewall and proxy, so who knows what they might be doing. And it's IE6 as well. I'll give it a go at home tonight, but it is really weird to say the least.

Why do people from Sweden and Poland have so much trouble with Windows? The problem about this google trends things is that it is so interesting and yet means so little as you would never know WHY you got any particular result. Pretty cool though.

Shakira and Paris Hilton seem to be very important to a lot of people.[^] Unless of course almost every person on the web is searching for something unique and less than a dozen are searching for these two which makes them the winners by default.

I just wonder how many people who enter 'Paris Hilton' are actually searching for the Hilton hotel in Paris :) I would guess not many... but there must be some.

Shakira yeah baby! ;P <- put this where it fits ;) Paris   I think people were looking for the "video" and or were looking for the Google A.I. stuff up, where you type "paris hilton isn't a sl*t", and Google would say "Did you mean paris hilton is a sl*t" LOL, so funny. Doesn't work any more as Google "fixed it". PS: If you haven't seen RapidShare.com[^] yet, then I suggest you visit ;)
