I looking asp.net hosting provider that support asp.net 2.0 and SQL 2000. Some of my friends and even Netcraft[^] suggest me GoDaddy.com. But before i decided to sign up with one provider, i would like to ask from CPian, anyone can give recommendation ? :)

I've been using Discountasp.net for 4 years for 3 different sites and cannot recommend them highly enough. If you use the dscount code aspnetpro2006 - I think this is right but visit aspnetpro website to be sure (because they won best hosting award) you get 6 months free. Bargain!!

We use our own - www.hiscommunications.net - we sub from the same company that GoDaddy buys. We've been using it for five years and have 4 or 5 of our own websites there (html, php, php with MySQL, .net, and .net with MSSQL) plus all of our customers' sites. We've been pretty happy with it. There could be better help at times, but that seems to be most everywhere. Most developers in our developer group have similar problems at times with support.

I can tell you that I use CrystalTech. www.CrystalTech.com. I have 2 different sites hosted with them. One is an HTML only site and the other is a full-blown ASP.NET 2.0/SQL Server 2005 site. They are awesome and their prices seem to be a little lower than most that I looked at. Just my 2 cents.

i've got two sites @ brinkster.net using .net 1.1 + Access(they went the cheap route- i suggested sql server[but not too many DB hits]). and Support is really responsive (about 30 sec - 1 min). of course, depending on who in support you talk to there, you may get two different answers, however support really is 24/7. not too shabby.

I've been using EasyCGI[^] for a few years now and never had a problem. They usually update their packages 1-2 times a year, and recently they just updated their storage amounts for shared hosting. Mark

I have a virtual server at fullcontrol.netThey are really great and you get a "dedicated" box for less. Great support, I've never had a problem with them.

I have both godaddy.com and wsebhost4life.com godaddy offers a _ot_ of storage. 50 gigs worth. webhost4life.com is limited to 2 gig (more for more $). Both offer SQL Server support, although both are limited to a few 100 megs. webhost4life.com has a nice liffle web page template generator, though. Both have good service. Al Gorup

I believe GoDaddy allows only medium trust which puts limitations on things like calling web services outside of your hoster and other things like programtically creating directories and files plus some functions like adding/deleting membership schema programatically. Hosters like reinvent.com allow a modifed full-trust which lets you do things like the above. Depends on what you are planning to do.

This may be a bit high spec for you, but for very serious projects I wouldn't hesistate to go past Rackspace Managed Hosting for a managed server. We had previously setup with a "Virtual Dedicated" server with ServerIntellect, and while reasonable, the database configuration and a delay in getting setup prompted us to go Rackspace on one crucial Sunday afternoon - they built the server and we were up and running that very Sunday. We're running Windows 2003 R2 / SQL 2005 / IIS 6.0 setup, it's great to have your own DB server, deployment of sites has become a whole lot less painful, and we were actually allowed to lease SQL 2005 rather than pay for a license - very useful. So far the level of support is absolutely astounding - so much so we've become a Rackspace Solution Partner ([PLUG]so anyone needing a quote or more information drop me a line![/PLUG]). Anyway, that's just our experience. Shared hosts we've used recently for ASP.NET 2.0 have been CrystalTech (pretty good, but been greatly turned off by control panels, etc) and ServerIntellect for their "Virtual Dedicated" but we've tended to stay away from the smaller more volitile shared hosts. It's a pity as the market for windows shared hosting doesn't seem to have a real head and shoulders leader at the moment. AASW (PS: If you haven't been able to find a shared host that fits your requirements and aren't looking for a managed or dedicated solution, feel free to get in touch and we may be able to set your site up on one of our own managed servers for you).

I use ServerIntellect and MaximumASP. They've both been good to me. Timothy Lee Russell http://www.anatone.net

I'd second ServerIntellect too, they were good and I'd recommend them and would imagine they would fit most requirements except where requirements are for extremely high uptime, scalability and a large premium on the availability of support.
