There are many c# tutorials on the net. Search google. For a free IDE, take a look at SharpDevelop. Good luck and good on you for taking on new challenges...

Visual Basic 6 is a pretty poor excuse for a programming language, the jump to C# involves a pretty steep learning curve. For a free IDE, download visual studio C# express edition, and then buy some beginner books and work through them. There's no subtitute, you need to get a good reference or two, and get your hands dirty.

N..eeh, not so sure. But the language is awesome. Its even better than asian (no offense to asian people) students that were with me in my ESL classes - and i was LMAOing in class all the time.

Perhaps.  But, if we're going to second guess every confused newbie with people trolling, then we're going to let the trolls change the face of the site, not for the better.  I prefer to treat every new user name as a new person.  If they troll, if they behave inappropriately, then I don't care who the person posting is, my response will be the same ( to ignore people who are just trying to cause trouble ).  I may get caught out by trolls from time to time, but in the meantime, I am sure I've not made anyone feel unwelcome, and I've not let people with small and confused lives change the way I live, or enjoy the site.

Yeah, no kid sister should have to read about Visual Basic 6.0. I'm going to 1.0 vote him for the mention of it. Hopefully it will be moved to the Soapbox. VB 6.0 why not burn a _ _ _ _ _ in someone's yard? Why not start a riot in Watts, LA? Why not talk O.J. into publishing a book on why he didn't _ _ _ _ orange juice? VB 6.0 is much worse than any of those things.
