Honour Killing

I doubt that she was killed because she disagreed with her father but probably because her father assumed she committed Adultery or fell in love with a fellow of different faith both punishable in some eastern religions/cultures

Death's too good for him[^] He was an asylum seeker from Iraq fleeing Sadam Hussain. He wants the death penalty and there isn't one in the UK. Well, I hope he rots slowly in jail for what he did. The punishment of having to live with that guilt is better than giving him the release of a death penalty. He wanted the UK's protection. Well, now he has it! He'll be on 24 hour suicide watch protected from himself to ensure he stays alive and lives with the guilt.

I say give him all the knives and/or rope he needs in order to end it. Why do you Brits want to house, feed, and clothe this piece of garbage until he dies a natural death?? I say the world is better off without him taking one more breath of FREE AIR!

Because he wants to die. He is in prison so we can remove his freedom as punishment for his crime. Including the freedom to kill himself.

2 wrongs do not make a right.

Because we are way past stupid. Why do you think so many of us want to/are leaving?

May well be true, but I sincerely hope you do not endorse the death sentence for adultery or falling in love.

Clearly I don't approve such ways and I hope no one will !

That should make a beautiful epitapth for British civilization. Of course, the significance of it will probably be lost on future generations of Islamo-Europeans, as they go about their day free to rationalize away all the wrongs it took to drive off the English.
I find it odd that we celebrate diversity by trying to do away with it

Not in my culture and not on the Christian religions.
'My country, right or wrong' is a thing no patriot would ever think of saying except in a desperate case. It is like saying 'My mother, drunk or sober.'

 Guilt ? Do you really think he feels guilty ?? How can he feel guilty ? For sure he's done it for the love of God ! If he had the ability for guilt in him, he wouldn't have done it ! Marius

Well, even if he doesn't feel guilty and thinks he can kill himself and get his rewards in what ever afterlife he thinks he's going to get then his punishment is to delay him getting to that nirvana or whatever it is. Anywhich way you want to look at it, his punishment is being denied the thing he wants: Death.

Honor killing is not specific to religion / cult but more specific to the environment you live in. For example: Jews Punish adultery by Stoning to death, but do all Jews practice this act? , Muslims punish by death but do all Muslims practice this act? Same thing goes for Christian Cults like Greek/Roman Orthodox in the Mediterranean (Lebanon, Greece) a city Christian acts/think differently than a rural village Christian. For all eastern communities, Family is the key structure in the society pattern. Let me give you another example, Have you watched "Time to kill”? In that movie, a daughter is raped and the father goes out to revenge his daughter’s honor and at the end found not guilty by court. What would you do if you were in the same shoes?

None practice this act nor have I ever heard of any instance of this: this is simply not true. And you are attempting to compare culturaly based acts that have not taken place for a long time against current practice as if you are trying to justify it. Oh, and a man that goes out and attempts to kill another man who raped his daughter is not an honor killing. It is simple revenge and, if caught by the police (in the UK) he would be tried and punished.

My point exactly. Its culture, society, environment. Religion is not the only factor. You assume they have never taken place for a long time because YOU have not heard about it for a long time. The world does not circulate over you.

Do not assume, Assumption is the mother of all fools.

You are still not getting it. These things may happen before the police is anywhere by. In some cases the police won’t know about it because both the victims and the murderer's family will hide the murder as they are both ashamed of the act but raise their children to revenge!

What do you think honor killing is, if not revenging an "honor" by killing?

The only 'thing' that happens is honor killings carried out by ignorant muslim adherents from third world cultures.

Wasn't an assumption: you made statements: I responded. Don't show any more ignorance than you already have.

Which bit of dumb are you? I said 'if caught', or do you suffer from selective interpretation?
Bassam Saoud wrote:

Not the same thing at all: in the case of you muslims its because you somehow feel sleighted. In the case (which you suggested) of the man killing another man who raped his daughter it is pure revenge: their is no 'honor' to avenge since most western cultures do not ascribe to the childish honor system which you evidently do.

Wow man thanks; you just showed me how it feels to be discriminated. First of all I am not a muslim not that I care to defend myself or anything. Second of all never generalize, it only shows how enlightened you are by the way! Yet again here is a good report that shows that honor killings is a serious crime not limited to a religion: U.K.: British Police Launch Offensive Against 'Honor' Killings [^]but I am sure nothing the world can say can ever convince you, hatred blinds you.
