Something like this[^] And it is "not really a joke". Photos show you how others see you (better than a mirror). There is a "model trap" - they show you just a second, from a specific POV, and unless you are anorexic there is always an angle and a position where there's something not stretchy. But if most photos show you broader than you like, you are.

As someone who managed to lose 60lbs in less than a year without surgical intervention I feel I have the right to say "it can be done". * ;) * Basically, I got fed up with my weight (196 lbs) in Spring 2001 and changed my diet and the routines around it. By February the following year I was down to 136 lbs, and I've not looked back since (I'm now around 141 lbs).

Naaaahhh... wrong conclusion! It was from an japanese site, so it might contain copious mount of stale strong fish.

If you have a bit of weight, and look kind of fat in photos, is there a way to make you look a bit slimmer by using photoshop? If so, how do I approach this? Thanks

Loose weight. Eat less, exercise a little more ( or simply exercise )

I dream of reaching that again... I did just loose another 10lbs, but that still only brings me to 320lbs as of this morning. But that is only down 110lbs in 2 years, so I guess the rate is still about the same. My goal is actually to reach 200lbs.... :sigh:

absolutely, for a "little" change. How good is your art experience? Optical effects in Photography? knowledge of the human musculature? knowledge of photoshop? knowledge of proper optical illusion effects? knowledge of color theory? edit: I forgot knowledge of light and shadow and re-alignment of illuminated bodies (the biggest secret to augmented reality is rematching lighting effects from the real-world when you add/subtract something). but it is still a lie. If it takes 100hours to make an image look "better" sure it makes for a good sale, but the merchandise hasn't changed any, and no longer matches the photo. Whether you cut the head off and glue it to another body or carefully manipulate the photo for days to improve it, it still amounts to lying. spend those same 100 hours weightlifting and hiking. :) -- modified at 12:16 Sunday 25th February, 2007 I'll add another story to this... The general once had me improve the satellite photos of the missile range. He said it was too "brown" made it look not inviting enough to customers. So I made it green increased the sizes of our lakes, made them a healthier color, widened our rivers nearby. added trees to our mountains that lacked them, turned a few dirt roads to paved roads.... makes the images of the range look much more inviting for someone who doesn't want to work in the desert. But when they get here... it's still a desert.

LOL you probably don't have my build. ;) I would not be at all surprised if I could get down to 126 lbs without looking in any way "skinny" (I'll be more than happy with 136 though). :)

Just resize the picture making it proportionately less wide than tall - squish it in from the right a bit.

There are even discussions on changing the name since missile testing is now less than other testing. We've got Japanese missile tests, as well as German Air Force bombing training, we do a LOT of atmospheric and orbital scientific testing since we are the only range within the US borders with an unlimited ceiling -- even the shuttle has to ask permission to pass overhead. ;P just remember, you asked, so you get the sales pitch. ;P
