Okay, I understand. But I never would have thought of that. What if you make a mistake removing the icons (delete one character too many or something)? Isn't there any other way of conveniently running the validator that doesn't make it part of the very thing you're validating?
I was planning to do a final test manually by entering the URL on the validation website. I am sure I can probably create another page that have a link to test each page in the website. Frankly, I did not think that was a big issue. That said, your idea of exploring the possibility of setting up an automated test outside the pages is good because a website is never finished. It is a business promotion and brand-building tool that has to be changed regularly to reflect the changes in business etc. Thomas

Tiger runs on new Intels also. But, not on the generic notebooks yet. It is a possibility, though. Thomas
But the specs[^] still says you need a PowerPC G3, G4 or G5 to have it installed! If it can run on an intel, I would love to try it (if they have a trial I mean.. I shall buy if I like it..) and buy one to run on my intel machine. Any ideas?

No. I think I was not clear. It runs only on Apple machines with Intel processors. Apple now has the concept of universal binary, where you can compile an OS X application to run on OS X either on Intel or Power PC. The new Apple machines have Intel Core Duo processors, and can run Windows also. They could run Linux for a long time now. Thomas

It is true everywhere else in the world, why would China be an exception?

Actually, no, many countries respect copyright laws and do not permit forgeries to be sold in public. I am not talking about pirating, but flat out forgeries where the media appears to be a legal version.

In China, most people use Windows operating system. Only some develpers use Unix or Linux. Of course, some fans of linux use it too. So my question is that: do you use Windows or Unix/Linux? 我的英语不足以表达出来,受打击了。:(( -- modified at 21:27 Wednesday 7th March, 2007:((:((:((

Windows of course. Been using Win3.0, Win3.1, Win3.11, NT3.5, NT3.51 NT4.0, Win2k, WinXP, WinVista and I can't see the trend changing. Notice I skipped Win95/WinME as never ever used them, I opted for NT3.51+Shell a far more stable environment at the time.

I have Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux on my desktop computer, and Mac OS X Tiger on my notebook computer. For all personal work, I use either Linux or OS X. In fact, I booted into XP only to check how my website looks in Internet Explorer. Thomas

I make my living from writing for Windows, so that's what I use. Currently one of my dev boxes is running XP, and the other triple booted to XP, Vista and Windows Server 2003 (it spends most of its time in Vista). My laptop runs XP, with VMs of whatever else I need day to day (typically Vista, Win2k and Win2k3 as and when required). If I had the time or a pressing customer requirement I'd run up a Linux distro for dev purposes - but the fact is that in my line of work (mainly user interface development and development tools extensibility) the demand for commercial work on the Linux platform is for all intents and purposes nil.

In addition to your list, I not only used NT 3.1, Windows 95 and the crap known as ME, I even used Windows 386--oh, was that a bundle of joy (sarcasm smiley.)

Windows at work. I used to use Ubuntu Linux as much as possible at home but am fed up with the broken support for my scanner, Gaim no longer runs, print quality is poor, etc etc, so next time I'm getting an iMac. :-D

My main OS is Mac OS X. I have Ubuntu Linux and Windows XP installed on it though in VMs. My server's OS is Solaris though. I get to interact with all of them daily.
