Yes, it is and the pronounciation is the same as "top", not "fool", in case the assembler is speech-based. :)

Would you ever keep a "Next" link to the left and "Previous" to the right while letting someone navigate your page or application? It seriously sucks : A Sample[^], btw why did he do that? :~ I think nobody ever does it. X|

You actually see that a lot with GNU/OSS/GPL-ish documentation.  My guess is that the tools used to generate the output of the documentation are responsible for the navigation elements.  FWIW, I hate it as well!    I much rather a single large HTML document myself - I hate having to click back and forth trying to remember something I read a few "pages" ago...   Also makes offline viewing easier; it is a royal PITA to have to assemble those single pages into a single document just to be able to print something I can read while traveling.    Peace!

Quite a bit of open sauce documentation does this.

Hmm, I wonder if the author of the tools was Israeli or from one of the Arab countries. I see this a lot at the office (here in Israel) when my coworkers write in English, they still look at it right-to-left. That is, they staple the pages together on the top right, and so on. Very annoying.

Ex-green screen users still have issues with scrolling so people have carried that over into web development, that is why you see all the paging instead of just a long document.

I was thinking that since the most often taken path would be Next, that choice was listed first.
