depends how you count. I have 5x160GB drives in a raid3 config for 640gb usable space. I also have one each 250gb, 60gb, 10gb, 3.7gb, and .5gb drives, all but the last two are in use, the 3.7 will be if/wehen I ever get linux installed on the frankenbox it's part of. A total of 962 decimal GB or about 900 binary. I intend to get a 2nd external HD to maintain an offsite backup of personal files, whenever I get around to that I'll be a member of the TB club.

At home I'm nearing 80 GB, at work it should be close to 300 GB.

Now, what for ? I mean what data can take you up to 1TB ? I am living with 80 Gb, and that is way much than will ever need, I think.

Definately me... My main desktop has a total of 190gb, and my notebook has a 100gb HDD. If you want to count the OLDIES... I guess I could add another 30gb that's not in use.;P

HDD Capacity, or HDD storage space? I think I have a bin or two kicking around of old <1gb drives. ;p

Put some music on that sucker - mine takes up 30+ gigs by itself.

which leaves you with 970Gb of free space to reach the TB. Plus your whole life is not sufficient for listening to >30Gb ... so what is the point again ?

start archiving tv episodes, or ripping your dvds so you don't need to hunt for the actual disks to watch them. You'll fill gobs of space really fast.

2.27TB here spaced out across three PCs I use most. 2.8TB if I add 4th computer, laptop and external storage Doesn't mean I use it all, but when buying new HDDs it makes sense to buy larger drives as they are cheaper per GB and because they have better performance.

I just broke the 1TB barrier...

I only have around 400 GB (160 + 160 + 80) At work, our fileservers typically hold around 40 TB, the tabe library hold around ten thousand 320 GB tapes (full backup only :D ). Seen them, love them, want one :)

Cheers, Sebastian -- Contra vim mortem non est medicamen in hortem.

                                          1TB + 240MB + 20MB + 20MB + 160MB = more than enough

So basically, 1TB is more than enough? ;)
