On first sight it is funny but why are one-eared rabbits dumberer than 2 eared rabbits? :-) (When I was getting started an elder geek told me that 99% of everyone I'd ever meet in this business would be a know-nothing w*****. He was right.)

well... leave it to me to take a perfectly good joke and put an explanation to it. But "dumb" means doesn't speak. Or at least the original definition. Eventually "dumb" became known as lacking intelligence since it was assumed that a person who couldn't speak couldn't do so because their intelligence (or lack thereof) was not capable of speech. We know this is not the case in modern times, still the slang term has been adopted into common speech in many (not all) English variations. Now the rabbit part.... a rabbit doesn't make much noise unless reacting to external stimuli. Rabbits can howl when frightened or injured and it is a horrible sound. They can bark, and that is kind of silly sounding. And well, they make other noises for other stimuli.... so a one-eared rabbit would be more silent than normal because it would only get half the sensory input to react to.... or would quickly be dead because it didn't hear something it should, in which case it would be even more silent still. Thus a very dumb rabbit. :-D

if there was not there would be nothing to despair from. :) However I take comfort in this quote: "You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."

The molecules of your body are the same molecules that make up this station, and the nebula outside, that is born in the stars themselves. On behalf of the One Long Ear Defamation Bunch (OLEDB), in pursuant against individuals that would bring shame and harm against those we represent, our organization would like to register a formal public compliant against a Mr. Marc Clifton. Not all Dumb Bunny Associates (DBAs) are actually "dumb". While it often appears that most DBAs are complete idiots and unable to tunnel their way out of a brown paper sack; the reality is that some DBAs, despite their listening handicap, are capable of leading a normal and productive life in the corporate world; while only moderately screwing things up. And while we fully understand and appreciate that 99.99% of a DBAs requirements consume massive amounts of corporate funding, recent studies have shown that DBAs provide a level of security and comfort to most organizations in which they are employed. It is hate filled remarks such as yours, Mr. Clifton, that have forced groups such as ours and others programs, such as the Mad Critters and Dumb Bunnies Association (MCDBA), into taking active rolls in these communities. We hope that any future remarks and/or outbursts against DBAs will be ones of love, compassion and understanding. As we with OLEDB like to say, DBAs aren't stupid, they just don't listen. Marcus had all the best lines. This one is my all time personal favorite though. Marcus: Yeah. Well they said I was carrying around a lot of repressed anger. Lennier: And? Marcus: I'm not repressed anymore.

The only thing this tells me is that the "elder geek" was a jerk who thinks he's smarter than everybody else. And such jerkery is commonplace in the IT profession.
