No. On my machine, Vista Ultimate, running with UAC on, Admin account, this worked OK, I got half a dozen stupid prompts*, but it worked. *OK, well only 3 really, and one completely superfluous progress dialog.

Looks like my install has gone spastic. 4 weeks - that's a record. Where are those XP disks...

I thought you were required to turn in all discs for earlier versions.

Can someone check this for me: In vista, open the Start menu | All programs then expand a folder. Right click on an item and select Cut. Expand another folder and now drag the cut item (dimmed) into the newly expanded folder. On my machine this crashes explorer 100% Anyone else seeing this?

Yeah I got the same result as Jim. Do you have UAC turned off. That might be causing it to barf.

Hmm, I seem to have turned in my disks instead of my soul. Oh well, at least I can live another day ;P

So UAC is actually a redressed "Abort, Retry, Ignore" dialog?

No crash, but while I was dragging the shortcut around (and for about 20 seconds after) my CPU was pegged. :|

No crash, but i have to drop the item twice in the destination folder, the first drop does nothing. ( UAC is turned on but i did not get any prompt from it. )

Heh, just looking at it crooked crashes Explorer on 2 different machines and within a virtual machine. Now, if I actually DO anything, well then I am treated to a very pretty blue screen. This is the worst OS from MS since ME.
