Microsoft Pursuing Yahoo?

I predict MS will succeed in buying Yahoo. With Ozzie in charge, there has been a huge push in the company to be more web-focused. The whole Silverlight tech essentially is bringing the CLR to the web, for example. MS will throw so much money at them, Yahoo will be owned by Microsoft by the end of the year.

Then MS owns 38% of the search market and will use their domination of the browser and OS market to boost that until they're eating a sizable chunk of Google's Adsense income.

Pretty freaking weird, in an obvious way. Microsoft want more of the advertising market. For uses of Flickr and del.icio.us (I use both) it is going to be a sensitive time. Yahoo! has been good with both services, leaving them largely alone to do what they are good at. I'm not sure if Microsoft will be as benign though. Oh crap, I just remembered the YUI toolkit which is really good. And the Microsoft Atlas toolkit which... well... I don't like it. Crap, they'll nuke YUI for sure, or make it work like Atlas. Ugh.
