Yeah right! That will be the day when a woman gets interested in a guy because he was chosen as best programmer for the year!

Obviously you did not see that the guy was a Visual Basic.NET programmer? The text clearly says that.

Well, if he programs in a real man's language like C++, then it's possible, but VB? C'mon, pull the other leg!!!

You have this problem too? I mean, the girls are great, and I love to have deeply satisfying intellectual discussions with them, why just yesterday we got into a discussion of immortality and the possible ramifications in multiple n-Simplon Wheeler universes, but I really need my space! Sometimes I just can't concentrate on the work at hand, but I don't have the heart to tell them to go away.

Well we're still in negotiations over salary and exactly where she would fit in the grander scheme of things. We're quite delighted to have "stolen" her away from Microsoft, where she was acting as press spokeswoman[^]. The reasons she gave us for leaving Microsoft was to further her interest in C++, and to "broaden her horizons" (we're still not sure exactly what that means). All that said, we're super excited to have her on board, and look forward to integrating her unique talents within the project.

Actually I can say it did happen to me once... There was a cute new hire that seemed to be particularly interested in having me show her the ropes. And then there was girl #2, also equally good looking whom just happened to stop by my cube for a visit and grew rather suspicious of said newbie... Luckily for girl #2 she met me first so I had to play seniority... But I guess the fact we were married had a lot to do with it :P She eventually got over her suspisions, but my guess is her hormones were a little off given she recently gave birth to our son.... Sadly there was no catfight or name calling and all ended well... It was a slow day and I could have used the entertainment :P
