Hi everyone, today it's about three weeks since I last smoked a cigarette. The urge to fire on up is gone, thanks to my girlfriend Elif, who is all kinds of supportive. I feel a hell of a lot better. I noticed that I have not been coughing as much, I get along with my SCBA training a lot better, and my blood pressure has been normal for some time. Also, I do not have any trouble getting up in the mornings any more. I wake up at 6:00 to 6:30 without need for an alarm clock. Also, I used to be tired all the time - gone. When I get tired now, it is time to go to bed. Thanks again for all the brilliant feedback. This was the second-best decision I ever made, the best one being to ask Elif out on a date, of course.

I used to wake up by early Morning by 6 "o" clock every day without alarm. So there is no problem at all for me in getting up early. I used to sleep max of 7 hrs per perday.

Sebastian, Kudos man You'll keep feeling better and the urge will subside but never go away. Having someone that is supportive also helps a lot too. May sound stupid and is surely a personal thing but for a while I would stick a cig in my mouth but not light it up when I got a strong urge. It helped me with the psyc. thing which is 50% of the battle. Good luck Mike

Sounds like me. I've often said that the dumbest effing thing I ever did was start smoking, and the smartest thing was when I quit (January 1, 1991).

Well done. I'm in my fifth week now, and it keeps getting better. Even after overindulging in alcohol, I still feel better and still have a healthy appetite , something previously foreign to me.

Yeah, that's her. And I am not really sure about the quote, but it sounds about right in "Koelsch": "a nice Cologne girl".

That's it. I've got family in town from near Bergheim/Sindorf this week, so I'll be able to brush up on my Koelsch/German a bit.
