Satelitte Radio Question
-
For anyone who has a satellite radio in their car or at home, does it (usually) replace regular radio or can you switch back and forth between the two? If not, is there an option to switch between the two?

XM rocks, why would you care about 'normal' radio ? I think it's a totally differnt unit, you'd need both to have both. That's my recollection.

the one my friend has is an aftermarket retransmitter that sends a low power FM signal to the cars antenna so you can easily switch to a local station if you need to. As for why you'd want to do that, finding out why you've suddenly been snarled in unexpected gridlock, to get information about local weather, etc.
-- You have to explain to them [VB coders] what you mean by "typed". their first response is likely to be something like, "Of course my code is typed. Do you think i magically project it onto the screen with the power of my mind?" --- John Simmons / outlaw programmer

That's what I needed to know, thanks.

I'm interested in neither. It's just a research question for a homework problem I'm having. :)

You can switch back and forth without issue. The satellite unit has a button, just like AM and FM do. If you have a choice, get XM. I've had much better reception on their units. The sirius in my car, goes out the second I hit an overpass. If I plug my XM unit into the aux jack, it doesn't miss a beat (pun intended).
