Do not post programming questions (use the programming forums for that)

I did consider that, but because this wasn't language specific, I decided to post in the lounge... :|

Don't waste your breath. The rest of us understand what you're getting at. I'd have found what i was looking for by searching. But if i hadn't, i'd probably have posted here too, or on one of the articles' forums.

Personally, I understand the need for organization, but the minute there is the slightest question of dought whether it belongs in forum A or forum B, I post wherever I feel like posting. I figured it was generic enough, as I'm looking for an API, not specific to VB, VC, ASP, whatever and also considered that I would likely get the biggest response posting in the lounge and seeing how it's not a common question I kinda wanted to get it noticed. :P I find posting here now, is like walking on egg shells...I get at least one complaint every 5 times I post in the lounge. Haha. Meh..

I see. So if I were to respond to it, it'd be like punching a hand-puppet?

Well, if you were mean about it. I suppose you could just smile at the puppet, or laugh at the puppet, or put on a goofy face and coo at the puppet... :)

Well, there's a troll around here named Kyle and your manner of posting is similar to his, so we "quarantine" new members like yourself until we are sure that we want you here;P Roswell P.S. There's no way to know if you are a sock puppet of not, but we still suspect it

Actually, that is a good question you raise there. Technically this was a programming question and thus not desirable in the Lounge, but without limiting it to a specific language (which might not be desirable), and without cross-posting (which is definitely not desirable), which forum should it have been asked in?

That is unfairly limiting it though. Like asking for bread recipies in a curry forum because you want to make it curry flavoured... Ok, that was a terrible analogy even by CP standards, but I think you see what I mean? :-O
