Hi all, So the other day my boss asked me to make a decision on whether we should continue using Borland C++ Builder 2006 or whether we should make a shift to Visual Studio 2005. So I thought lets hear what the CP members have so say. So which one would you choose and why? Many Thanks Regards,

One of my existing project is almost impossible to port to VC or needs couple of years, otherwise I prefer and use Visual Studio 2005 (at least for newer projects).

Kinda like going to the docs, eh? FWIW, VS6 for the IDE and VS2005 for the complier...

Have you found a Community Dist. agent? Maybe you can use the Orcas beta in making your decision. If you like Orcas beta, then VS2005 is the right step in that direction.

I don't know Borland C++ Builder 2006 but why is VS so great? Integration, integration... Does VS have better intellisense? Better debugger? Better plugins? Integration with more languages? (Even if you stick with C++, for some interop it sure is handy? ) btw, Choosing an Environment ;)

Borland is fading away, try to find a site similar to :bob:land that supports it.

                                      The tigress is here :-D

Well as I said I don't know C++ Builder so I can't answer that for you, but you can get trial version or express edition of VS and find out, I was just pointing where I think VS is very strong.

Hi all, So the other day my boss asked me to make a decision on whether we should continue using Borland C++ Builder 2006 or whether we should make a shift to Visual Studio 2005. So I thought lets hear what the CP members have so say. So which one would you choose and why? Many Thanks Regards,

For windows development, stay with Builder. For web development make the move.
