How difficult do u think computer science is?

I think computer science(ofcourse coupled with discreet mathematics) is the most difficult subject in all of academia.What do u think?

I'd have to disagree: Electrical Engineering? Physics? Blech. Those two subjects (particularly advanced Physics) gave me the biggest headaches. EE was manageable, just a whole lot of work for something I wasn't too interested in. :) Jon Sagara "I am in a race. I'm weening!"

Physics is not very difficult it's just a lot of work. EE and CS are cousins.

I think that's an arrogant view, and completely false. Computing is relatively *easy*, I'd choose it over any number of other sciences. For starters, we have full control over it, any physical science is far more complex because the systems are more complex and out of our control. Christian I am completely intolerant of stupidity. Electrical Engineering was much more difficult than CS. I thought discrete mathematics was one of the easiest subjects that I took. Semiconductor theory was the subject that I thought was the most difficult. Our exams were open book and open notes, and 35% got you an A. I managed a C.. John

I agree physics is much more than f=ma type of stuff you learn in introductory classes. I remember a class I had on electromagnetic theory that I had in the physics department that was quite challenging, although it was in no way as hard as semiconductor theory. John

of course it all depends on the individual... but personally, i think physics is a far more difficult subject than CS, as is pure mathematics and medieval romanian history. CS was a breeze, for me. i actually liked the discrete math - it was the physics that gave me headaches. -c

Some think that math is easy... and some find it really painfull... Some find statistics cool and interesting... some find it painfull... Not that hard IMHO. Once you toss out a lot of the crap liberal arts stuff. Ignore the business schools and get right down to the sciences, CS ranks low compared to most other sciences. I have degrees in engineering and a degree in computer science. Trust me, getting a BS in computer science is a cake walk compared to getting a BS in almost any engineering field (and computer science pays better).
