In a couple hours I'm on my way to see The Police. Their first tour in 23 years ... I never got to see them in the 80s. Reunion tour? I like to call it the "we can charge anything we want for tickets because we're The Bloody Police tour"! Over $100(usd) per ticket for the cheapest seats, seats that I'll probably need a telescope to see the stage from :) Anyone see them on this tour? Can I expect good stuff? Hmmm, one of my favorite drummers, and Sting...I think so! Cheers  Mark

Well, I went to see Sting a couple of years back, and it set me back about $150, and the seat was really high up too. But worth every last cent. :-D

Really ? I was paying more than that in the 80s to see bands. And Poison and Ratt is TOTALLY worth $65.

No one today that is popular would I pay $100 to see in concert. And no one from the past is in their prime enought for me to pay $100.

Actual prices. I typically pay scalpers to get close to the front, that can cost up to $1200 ( that is, I've seen them listed for that, I've not paid that ). Rocklahoma is three days and I have a VIP ticket, but the others were just plain old general admission prices. I forget what I paid for Iron Maiden in Toronto, I think all my other shows, I paid scalpers. I think Maiden was cheap, like $60 or something.

if the prices were reasonable, all the young perky whippersnappers would get all the tickets first from these new intarwebs and small pocket phoney things, leaving no ticked for us old farts with a day job.

Hi Judy! It sucked. Just kidding! They were pretty darn good. Sting's voice is still 100%. Stewart Copeland's drumming was great - not quite the same energy as 25 years ago - but still, I don't know how he does it, especially after not playing much for many years. His percussion work away from the drum kit was basically amazing. I'm a drummer so I watch those things closely LOL. My only complaint was the guitar too low in the mix - most likely the effect of being a half mile away wedged in a little corner of the arena :) Have a great time! yeah, I paid about that for Poison, to be in the third row, and it was well worth it.

For Poison? I guess 3rd row would be cool. I played in a band and opened for them and partied with them afterward. The audience was awesome but I'm not sure how much I'd pay to see them :) Actually I think they're playing with Ratt but I'm pretty sure I missed out on tickets. That may be a good show to get tix through a "broker"....hmm Cheers, Mark

I know what you mean. I'll pay to see energetic bands, but these geriatric tours, I don't know. Thanks for reminding me about Chicago. I'd like to meet those guys. Unfortunately they're playing too large of venues - no chance of my band getting any openers with them. Dammit :)

I agree. I grew up with "super-groups" that were great at arena rock - Boston, Journey, Ted Nugent, Van Halen, etc. but these days I'd rather hold out for more intimate venues where the sound is good. It's cool to see those groups for nostalgia but being past their prime I don't think they're worth those ticket prices, unless they have a drummer I like that I've never got to see play live before LOL.

Sting is one of the few, if not the only, acts I'll pay that much to see. He puts 100% into his shows and plays with incredible musicians. Definitely worth every cent to me :)
