Yes, that's very normal. Nylabones are about the coolest thing you will ever find. Contrary to what many think they are great for dogs and especially puppies that like to chew they are flavored plastic bones that are tough as nails but great for dog teeth. For about the first month you need to try and let them outside every 2 hours. At night every 4 hours. This trains them to 'go' outside not inside. Keep them out until they go. It's a PITA but it pays off pretty quick. Pugs are very cool and smart so you won't have too much trouble with him.

I live in appartment, so sadly going outside is not an option. The pet shop staff told me to get the blueish paper pad, and try to paper train him. So for now, I put that paper pad on the floor, but eventually I'll get a basket, and put that paper pad in.

I highly recommend you do your research on taking care of dogs or else you will regret your decision to buy a puppy.

I'm doing as much research as I can right now, I've bought a book about pugs, and registered a pugs owner forum and asking questions, and learning. But it seems to be so much work to do... :sigh:

Good luck with the dog. Remember, it is a full time commitment for the years you have with the little guy especially when they are puppies, but it really pays off. My wife has forbidden us from getting a pug because she is afraid its eyes will pop out of its head.

I have to wonder how much thought went into buying this puppy if you are already wondering if you are going to regret it... We are waiting for a puppy from a registered breeder of our choice of dog(have been waiting for 2 years), but no doubt will have similar thoughts once we get our biting pooh-machine home...

He is just playful. If you don't like it, have him trained. He is still young enough to learn quickly.

OK, here's what you do: Get a good book or raising a dog. READ IT! And make some saving already - vets are expensive ;)

My dog survived only for 7 years. Life of dog mainly depends on breed. My dog was cross of German shepherd and country dog

Tell him off, give him a clip across the nose.

Tell him off, give him a clip across the nose. Don't be afraid to tell him off, just make sure that you do it for a reason otherwise he'll start to mistrust you.

Just keep it simple. Puppies need consistency. You need to regularly take em outside to go to the bathroom and reward them when they do. Only punish them when they are caught in the act going inside, and only if you haven't neglected to take them out regularly. Stay on a schedule. Wake up in the night and take em out again til they get older, around 6 months. They can't hold as much when they're young. But the most important is to keep it simple. When you take em out to pee or poo use a command word, like "do yer business". But stick to one phrase or word, don't mix it up. This is a very young mind, just remember how your human mind struggled with the same things. Don't expect a young puppy to understand you. So, simple and consistent and diligent.

No, you have to take them for walks outside. I'd recommend 2 hours a walk outside. Welcome to parenthood. Unless they were paper trained when being raised by the breeder, you'll have a hard time. Its not a cat. They need dirt and grass.
