I have recently began my first job as CE 6.0 R&D, and development for such system. We start at 7:00 AM, which is much earlier than I am used to getting up. So, as others in the office have suggested, I have began making use of the never never ending amount of coffee here. I have drank about 3 cups of coffee, at about 12 ounces a cup. How much coffee do the CPians drink on a given day?

I cant stand coffee the smell alone is enough to tuen my stomach. I used to be a huge coke dinker but have cut back due to all the extra sugar goes straight to the gut.no its only 1 Coke on way to work and one at lunch, down from 4 or 5 used to hit each day. tuff to quit cold turkey.

I to used to drink about 3-5 cups during the day and on the weekend the equivalent of 1 POT. Only because I like the taste of coffee, but recently I've decided to cut down on the coffee big time and all caffeine for that matter. I have a link on my blog to a Caffeine Database; you'd be surprised how much caffeine is in different drinks. lspence.blogspot.com

Haven't had coffee in 3 years, after I set the record at my previous company due to a database failure at a customer.

I used to drink 7-10 cups a day, now I'm down to 1-2, but it's a 24 ounce cup. :wtf:

Sorry to introduce reality, but if you really want to wake up try Orange Juice (or something else with Citric Acid). Caffeine is a stimulant, it doesn't actually wake you up, though it will keep you up.

                0. I've never liked coffee. I used to drink exorbitant amounts of Mountain Dew (lots of caffeine there), but I've since given that up. So, no caffeine in the morning for me no matter how early. Now if you'll pardon me, I'm going to take a nap on my desk. ;)

I drink what my coffee maker calls 4 cups twice a day. I think it is more like 3 normal sized mugs. Then about 4 cans of coke a day.

I used to average a 12 pack of soda a day. I'd occasionally have coffee in the winter to warm up. And I'd have almost no water. I now do one or two a day sodas a day, usually have 2 or 3 cups of coffee and 2 to 4 20oz cups of water.

1~3 cup (12oz) + alpha Ok, here is my day. I brew coffee between 7 and 7:30am or whenever I got my workplace. In most cases, I am the only one who drink it in my team. ("it" means dropping coffee in the pot, not like Starbucks or their-home-brewed-coffee) It is depend on my day, but I usually empty the pot, which is about 6 to 8 cup size. And I drink my coffee-aa-in drink (in other words, energy drink). Well, overall... I am drinking about 6 ~ 12 cups of coffee (if it is 8oz cup). :~ Only the problem is ... I am still sleeeeeeeeeepy.

I used to drink a ton, but have since stopped almost entirely. Now I drink tea. It is much more enjoyable and relaxing and gives me something to look forward to in the mornings (like coffee would) but without the nervous jitters coffee would give me. I still like a cup of Starbucks now and then, but while I'm at "the office" (at home) I prefer tea. I drink about 4-5 cups of tea on a good day. I'm becoming quite the expert! My favorites right now are South African Kwazulu (a potent, smooth black tea) with a lot of milk in the mornings, and Japanese Sen-Cha (plain) in the afternoon or after dinner. Never put sugar in tea, just milk if it's black. Good stuff.

When I need to get up earlier, I just go to bed earlier the night before. I discovered when I make sleep a priority and make sure I get at least 8 hours of it every night that I am well rested the following day. I also don't drink alcohol during the week because alcohol reduces the quality of sleep.

Two 8 cup Carafes a day (slightly less on weekends.) I used to hate coffee but I am now convinced I could have ran through College, High school, Middle School and possibly Elementary school with perfect grades and graduated earlier if I could have taken the bitter taste sooner. These days I am also a coffee snob though, I don't drink the Folgers Crystals my dad did. I enjoy Peet's coffe and if I can't get that Whole foods brand then Starbucks.

I have had caffeine addictions in all it's lovely forms. Coffee! Ice Tea! and the almighty Mountain Dew Fountian Drink!!! [After my accident, all the Mountain Dew (and much beer) turned into many, many pounds] I've always prefered the Dew, but Coffee is a nice second. Ice Tea is nice, but I don't like lemon or sugar in it and you need the lemon and sugar or your mouth gets really, really dry here in Phoenix area. I actually fell asleep in a six way intersection once while on a 20 hour work spree (delivering Auto Trader, yikes!) while amped, up, down with Ice Tea. My ex-wife freaked. Fun, yes, but you need to sit back and cruise every once in awhile. Don't burn out too soon, you'll miss it... Now I drink Diet[less caffeine than Dew] whatever is on sale. Plus some of my medicine has caffeine in it. It doesn't effect me either way.

Well, I used to have the same problem that you have. Actually it wasn't 7:00 AM, more like 6:30 which is really (!) early for me as I prefer working at night. So I drank up to 7 or 8 cups a day which really made me feel sick after some time. But what I can advice now is yerba mate. Since I've known it I don't drink coffee at all. It's really healthy and got a lot more caffeine in it than coffee.

I have trouble with severe GERD/hiatel hernia and cannot always tolerate two cups, which really should be the cutoff. Spiking it with expresso is my way to go. Jolt offers gum and also a newly launched mint (www.joltgun.com, products section) that are easy on my stomach and give me a slight buzz. They exaggerate when they claim 5 mints to the cup, though. klang
