Was trying to find a release date, and actually found it. Is it just me that totally missed the release? According to the date it's been available since Monday. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/aa700831.aspx[^]

I am told that MSDN subscribers should find it in there as well - just going to check.... -- modified at 4:21 Friday 27th July, 2007 Yes - it is available on MSDN susbscriber downloads - I've kicked off the download of Visual Studio 20087 Beta 2 Team System and expect it will take a number of hours.

But it's a good start to see what is new. An updated version should be released very soon.

Uh yeah. Geez, there's been pre-announcements, announcements, and post-announcements by so many CPians here at the lounge that I'm actually feeling left out! (Self-imposed no-touch-beta-software rule, hehe). Marc

Hmmm. There's an idea. Given though, the amount of time I wasted with the VS2005 beta (it couldn't even figure out the project dependencies in my solution), I tend to think it's an utter waste of time. Except of course that it gives Microsoft free feedback. Marc

It takes up more disk space for no good reason.

The VS 2008 Standard version is only 722MB! Must be the most efficient version! :)

I must say, except for the occasional 'disappearance of Orcas', Beta 1 was rather stable :)

Looks like they only counted 2/3 of what was there. I hope they package it on a single DVD this time instead of 3 CDs. How stupid was that (VS2005)?
