I love Vista
-
I was here since 3.11, and with every new wins I was happy. Took some time to adjust but all in all it's constantly improving. Love the colors, love the navigation, hate toolbars and no menus... C# - not a language, it's a way of life...
i like vista, but i havent made the move yet, main dev systems are XP pro and test system is vista (i do like a lot about vista, but to be honest most of what i like could be in XP as a service pack) i dont like like having a laptop that only rates at 4.1 :((

Yeah, I love Vista64 too and have been with Windows since 3.0 (starting with it just prior to 3.1 being released)! I think Vista is the most complete version of Windows yet even with the few common issues. And presonally, I like the user interface for the most part. One of my favorite features is the search box on the start/all programs menu, have used that a number of times to find the programs I have installed without messing around with all the menus! As I have mentioned before, it is the little things that quickly won me over, even back in the betas. Some probably do not look at Vista of much of a change based on what they can see, but there are quite a number of things that have changed. The more a person uses it they more they will find. Of course, some just to not like change and will buck when it comes to changes. There are however, those that will not like Vista under any condition as they already have issues with it in thier mind or others that they respect has issues with it. Same happened with XP and tons of people were saying they would never use it. Many of them are those that are saying they will stay with XP and not move to Vista :) Another area where people complain is the drivers. Some hardware venders are just putting out junk and Vista gets the blame. I have used Vista on several machines that range from very old technology to more up-to-date machines and find no major issues. Guess I am lucky to not find any driver issues yet. Overall, Vista is a big winner and others will find out down the road. Just glad it is running on most of my machines!

Do you know of any video capture cards that work on Vista? That's the only thing holding me back.

I have a Hauppauge Win-PVR-150 that works just fine in Vista using the XP Vista drivers on their v2.7 CD and a freeware MPEG-2 decoder. I also have a PVR-350 that I would assume works just as well (haven't installed it yet). Their Win-TV 2000 software doesn't work in Vista, however. Flynn -- modified at 16:11 Friday 17th August, 2007
