Lighting a candle with another candle doesn't make either candle less bright. The room however, becomes more lit up.

中国 is the only Chinese I know (I think it means China, or The Middle Empire - assuming the Chinese and Japanese language use the same symbols for China). Which proves that you are better in English than I am in Chinese. ;) Welcome aboard!

One candle is bright. You can light another candle with a burning candle. If you do that, no candle will be less bright. However - since both will burn, the room will be brighter. I think it's an English saying. :) I think it's similar to "Shared joy is double joy". :)

Yes, you are right. And by the way, 中文=汉语, has the same means.

That is true. :) I do however practice Shorinji Kempo (Japanese version of Shaolin Kungfu) in my free time. That way I come into contact with a lot of Japanese, and subsequently a little Chinese (Kanji - I suppose it's something like 中文字 in Chinese). Speaking of work.. I better go get some of it done! :-D

Yes, I know there are many Chinese(or use Kanji?) in Japanese. But many of them change the meaning and pronunciation.

I always thought Chinese people couldn't pronounce 'r' (at least there are a lot of jokes on the topic), but it also seems to be difficult when writing. Another pearl I found in an Olympus header file: UINT DSSStartDecoding(DWORD dw**Miri**Sec); Meant was the time in milliseconds... :-D
