Hi everyone, I have a friend and he want to learns computer languages for work he asked of me which language is better but I said to him you must wait till I ask of some people for you so I need your help which platform is better Microsoft or Linux and what language or languages does he need to get a Microsoft's certificate for example NCSD or other things Thanks

I don't know, I have herded cattle and it has it's own arts, such as-running or climbing fast when the bull doesn't want to be herded- keeping 20 cows (trying to go in 30 directions) going where you want them to- living through the smell. X|

The question lacks context. What technologies does his work already use? That is more likely to be an indication of what language he should learn.

Well what language or languages are better for find a new and good job of course I know it depends to employer and company but for example some companys want a c++ programmer not all,right?

C# is in high demand in Scotland right now. I can't speak for other areas as I have no experience of them, but I'm having a lot of difficulty in finding any good software developers that know C# or VB.NET. We're even looking for Java developers that are willing to cross train.

It depends on what you want to do with it. C# cannot be used to create device drivers, for example. However, C# is excellent for writing business applications. C++ requires that you manage many more things for the same end result.

If you have the time to explain what makes C# better then Vb 2005 i would appreciate it, since i always heard/read about people telling that C# is better but never quite got why.

C# is not "better" than VB.NET. They share the same framework. They have slightly different syntax, that is all. VB.NET syntax is more verbose and reads a little more like English. C# syntax is slightly more terse and makes more use of brackets.
