Its the 11th of Sept here at the moment and I thought it would be interesting to see where everyone was on this day 6 years ago when you heard about the attacks in the US I was here[^] on a surfing trip with a mate, its was late at night and we we're sitting up waiting for some other friends to drive up from Sydney. We'd both fallen asleap while watching the telly when someone called to tell us what was happening. We saw the second aircraft crash into the building and stayed up most of the night watching the reports. It was very sureal to wake up too especially considering we were very very stoned and worn out from a long day of driving / surfing -- modified at 3:20 Tuesday 11th September, 2007 I really cant spell to save my life

I was at work, in the same time zone. Also, I notice that it also was a Tuesday, like today.

I was at work, Then a call came out for help in regards to the international planes being diverted to Newfoundland (where I live). You can read about it here http://www.snopes.com/rumors/gander.htm[^] I don't live in Gander but in St. John's Newfoundland where we also have housed many flights and showed them hospitality.

Out boating on the Norfolk Broads with my sister and pretty much missed the entire thing. Stopped in at a local shop to get bread on the way back to the hostel and was served by a woman who never looked at me once. She was just standing glued to a TV with her mouth open but I can't say I took a lot of notice at the time. Have since spent quite a lot of time studying the event and concluded that most of what we've been told about it is a lie.:(

In my college dorm room on the West coast, in deep sleep along with my roommates. The first plane hit when it was, for me, before 6am, so I was still sleeping. Shortly after, the phone rang and rang and rang and finally, I got up to answer it to the assailing voice of my roommate's girlfriend shrieking about terrorists and hitting the WTC and the Pentagon and it took me a couple of minutes to really process what she was saying. I woke up my roommate and gave him the phone, and turned on the TV. Within a few minutes most of my dorm floor was huddled around my TV, watching the news; we watched both towers fall, live. I spent the better part of the day sitting there waiting for someone to say it was all just a joke. Of course, that never came.. and I, like other posters here, had an interesting sense that I knew I was watching history in the making. Classes were, of course, cancelled for the day.

I was on the way to work when I heard that the first plane hit and the second hit when I was at work. A left-wing British scum bucket I had the great misfortune to work with was making light of the situation...laughing and enjoying every minute (his subsequent behavior showed that this wasn't just a tactic to mask his concern).

Thermite bombs in the basement are actually pretty likely compared with may of the theories. I doubt my views are shared by many in my church. I certainly haven't discussed 9/11 with them and it has never come up. My church is very non political compared to what I guess many north American churches are like. My opinions have been formed by reading and web research. I've had a pretty good look at the Kean/Hamilton/Zelikow report and read one of David Ray Griffin's book, watched upward of 50 hours of direct footage and related video. I also predicted the use of commercial airliners as suicide weapons during the whole missile shield debate months before 9/11. I've seen the photos of the 'brains' at the pentagon preparing for a plane crash attack, seen the schedule of military and particularly airforce exercises which combined together on 9/11/2001 to denude almost the entire continental US of its usual air defence, heard the doctored recordings, genuine recordings, faked recoding and censored recordings of phone calls made on the day, seen the treatment of the relatives of the victims, watched the squirming and story changing of key figures from Dick Cheyney to the Pensylvania Corroner, looked at flight paths, read the Operation Northwoods documents, studied the 3 official timelines and the their deviations form the real time line, listened to the Popular Mechanics guys and then watched them being taken apart by a couple of teenagers. I am far from considering myself an expert but wrong is wrong, lies are lies, jet fuel doesn't melt structural steel and 40+ storey tower blocks don't collapse at free fall speed from fire and minor damage even if they've already been reported as having collapsed by the BBC and CNN script readers. You can call me a conspiracy theorist but just remember that anyone who belives that Tim Osman (AKA OBL) punched a single 18" hole in the Pentagon with a Boeing 757 is one as well. They've seen no evidence. It's fantastically unlikely to have occured but they belive it because people who they already know are professional liars told them that's what happened.

Oh, quite simply, his church life consists largely of playing 'spot the antiChrist'. By the time it's evident it can't be Saddam, we've moved on to someone else, and pretty much forgotten all the times he was wrong, because this time, he's OBVIOUSLY right. Given that the bible doesn't support the idea of the antiChrist as he is trying to find it, he's obviously in trouble. But, even if I'm wrong in my view there, his approach plainly makes a laughing stock of his beliefs.

OK....... But, are they more than 1% likely ? I've looked into that one closely and I'm pretty convinced the odds are close to zero.

Fair enough. It's not my desire to convince you of anything, you're welcome to your worldview.

                                      Well, you obviously are one.

OK..... It's plain that anything I believe about these events is based on weighing up different media reports. I was not there. Nevertheless, the need of some people to find conspiracy has as it's most fatal flaw, the fact that I've yet to hear a motive that is plausible for the US government to attack it's own members, on it's own soil. The stuff about taking away civil rights, to prepare for the antiChrist, or for other reasons, is just crap, IMO.

I was right here in NYC, watching 14 of my friends perish.
