A survey in Britain has shown that people who use their laptops on the floor, in bed or on their laps are likely to develop injuries in their neck, shoulders and wrists. The survey says regular breaks are necessary to prevent damage. Clickety

That's the beauty of laptops! You can injure yourself in so many more ways when compared to using a desktop PC. So I can burn my groin with the heat of the battery, get enhanced carpal tunnel problems, neck, back, arm and wrist ache while sat like a consipated gnome trying to balance said machine on my knees while slumped on my sofa.

I still remember having to write your own code in FORTRAN rather than be a cut and paste merchant being pampered by colour coded Intellisense - ahh proper programming - those were the days :)

A surevey says people who play Russian roulette have a 1-in-6 chance of blowing their brains out. OK, I didn't survey anyone, I just made that up. A survey (of one person, me) says that anyone that needs a survey to tell them the bleedin' obvious is too dim to benefit from the knowledge anyway. Just laptops, huh? I could see injuries based on other, erm, strenuous activities on the floor, bed, and lap, without a few breaks in between! Marc

Don't forget the hollywierd actor who decided to do it using a gun loaded with blanks. With the muzzle in contact with his head the gas pressure was high enough when fired that it smashed a chuck of bone from his skull and scrambled the contents as throughly as a bullet would've.

Folks needed a survey to find this out? Wow, I'm impressed!

Not only that. There's Satips to bring the survey results to us. How good is it? :)
