I would like to say that in my opinion the guy who created the Windows mouse driver is the best programmer in the whole world! I had been using Win 3.1, Win95 and Win98. Now I've been using WinXP. In those years the mouse driver has never failed, even if I had only blank sreen, no keyboard, I wasn't able to do anything, but the mouse pointer was still working!!! If you are reading this, anonymous programmer, know that you are my hero. MP Maciej Pirog

in win95, my mouse would sometimes make noises - each time it would get a mouse move message, Win95 would play a beep. i'd have to restart. i loved that. -c

    Cheap oil. It's worth it!

Image Processing - just like mom used to make.

I had the same problem. I think Windows would beep whenever it received a message that it couldn't process, so everytime the mouse moved, it would beep as it rejected the subsequent "mousemove" message.

The absolute best code I ever came across was the old Vermont Views (a C source code library for writing GUI apps back in the DOS days). That stuff was absolutely rock-solid and almost *never* broke. Cheers, Tom Archer Author - Inside C#, Visual C++.NET Bible

Technically, I don't remember it ever breaking, but am assuming that nobody is perfect and that I'm forgetting at least one or two small bugs. However, there was not one single major problem ever with the package. Cheers, Tom Archer Author - Inside C#, Visual C++.NET Bible

I hope you aren't talking about IntelliPoint. I've had problems with that in the past - especially if you try to use it with a KVM switchbox. Mouse goes haywire! Even if you win the rat race, you're still a rat.

If my five-year-old TOSHIBA Satellite 2100 notebook plugged with a P/S2 external mouse, most of the time it is ok, but sometimes it fails while one minute ago it (the external one) was still working, and the cursor would not move. Only the accu-point mouse on the keyborad still works when it happened! Maxwell Chen Lets make bugs better!

You must be thinking of the 8.20 version of mouse.com, right? However, I think there are many more contending for that place. The most exceptional person must have been he who created the first "hello world". Tell me about any program that has been plagiarized that many times.
