Normally I do not dress up for Halloween but our company is having a contest and the winner gets a new desktop system so I'm intrigued. Any ideas on something cool that would be work appropriate?

Hey! I finally found a picture of myself!

my girlfriend is going as this. im not sure if thats work appropriate, but all of the costumes ive seen since around my 10th grade year were all "racy." thats one of the best things about halloween, girls put on lingerie and a set of animal ears and viola!

The answers would have been much more interesting if this were posted in the Soapbox.

Since they need to be 'work appropriate' that's why I posted it here.

Dress up as the head of the IRS, that would be really scary.

I did see an idea for a 'lawsuit.' Basically legal papers pinned all over his suit.

Well, I don't know about your office, but Halloween contests are generally won by people that dress up in detailed, scary outfits. Go as queen of the borg, and you'll win. If you want basic: Go as an IC Chip: Get yourself a large box, large enough to fit over your body (at least the top half) Paint it black Cut out the bottom completely, for your legs Cut arm holes Get yourself another box, and cut out some "pongs", paint those gold Write on your box the name and numbers of your fav. chip. For Girls: Sex it up and wear fishnets with it For Guys: Make it really scary and wear fishnets with it That ya go, me helpful advise for the day.

Dress like a bug. The costume could be an insect made with blue screens, "can't compile" messages etc.

Dress head to toe in pink and put a shoe on your head - Be Bubble gum on the bottom of a shoe! That was my costume a few years ago. Or get a piece of plywood, cut a hole in the middle and wear it around your waist. Wear a lampshade on your head, put an alarm clock on the board and maybe a book, and a t-shirt with a "1" on it - go as a "One night stand"

How about dressing as a Pez dispenser that looks like Nicole Brown Simpson? A cardboard box, a papier mache head, a hinge and a quart of strawberry jam should do it...

Get a large box, as tall as you, cut holes for feet, and stick on four plastic mirrors, one on each side, and you can go as everybody else.

Dress in normal jeans and tee shirt, go around asking people stupid questions that even your dog knows the answer to, calling them dear, and miss out every vowel of every word, and when asked what you have come as tell them you are the C# forum on CP. I'm going to bed now - you *MUST* post a photo of you in your costume. (How I wish this was in the soapbox....)
