Well, once again I red a tech article referring vanilla javascript. I don't know that is and the difference with javascript. I googled, checked my favorite on-line encyclopedia for a def... I couldn't find a straight definition nor some web ref to learn about it... Can somebody help me resolve that mystery? If you have any web ref to share, please do so :) Thx in advance

I suspect it's the kind that comes without the chocolate flake in the top, in a vague but consistent yellow colour and isn't particularly exciting. Seriously they probably mean Javascript that doesn't use the brower extension object model, i.e. the contents of document.window which is browser dependent.

Nothing is exactly what it seems but everything with seems can be unpicked.

"Vanilla" is a computing vernacular term used to describe the basic edition of something. So vanilla javascript will mean javascript that will function across all platforms supporting javascript. Does this answer your question?

You always pass failure on the way to success.

So, like vanilla ice cream, everyone will have it, but no one will really like it?

My current favourite word is: Waffle Cheese is still good though.

Except for good homemade vanilla ice cream. I love that stuff.

I think it's the use of real vanilla as opposed to vanilla vanilla that makes the difference ;)

Now I think vanilla-ice-cream-waffle may become my favourite word:-D
