Yahoo mail

Does anybody use Yahoo mail? I still wonder why do they have an option called "View" when you are opening a mail with pictures attached. In gmail, for image attachments, we have two options, "View", "download" and they server their meanings right. But in Yahoo, no matter you select "view" or "Save", it takes you to the Download page. Useless option. X|

I stopped using Yahoo mail a looooong time ago. I preferred Hotmail to Yahoo Mail back then because it was so bad. Now its just Gmail.

I use yahoo for networking with friends! Its too old groups are still working and get some stuff to transfer to many at a time. Along with I like the signature html option and use it for putting many small images in email.

Yahoo Mail currently is one of the best web mails. IMO, it's better than GMail.

The interface provides a very 'desktop-like' experience. Google tries to move in the same direction with the new interface. OTOH, I dislike GMail's 'threaded' mail organization which cannot be turned off. Yahoo's disadvantage is the non-free Pop access.

I do use yahoo mail but I still use the old interface and not the new one. This is mainly because when I tried the new interface it was very bad at handling folders with several thousand messages. I am not sure if this changed though. -- modified at 11:41 Sunday 25th November, 2007

I find that (threaded mail) to be the best feature of gmail. However I do subscribe to 10 or more email lists so I make a lot of use of that feature.

I find yahoo mail to be much slower than gmail and that the new interface (at least in beta) was not at all usable for me because I have several thousand emails in each folder.

Not just slow. Painfully slow, eating the memory and freezing the browser at least in its BETA appearance. Also, the HTML Email has a nagging bug. When you hit the BULLET icon, you expect the bullet to start at the cursor context right? But it always places the bullets on top. I reported this to CustomerCare and they could not reproduce it and wants a screenshot.

What volume? I've got a dedicated mailing list account that was at >2gig/350k messages the last time I checked (~2mo ago).

From all the email lists I have about 1G / 60K messages in the probably 18 months I have had a gmail account.
