No one cares if this is your favorite site. Do you pay for access to it, at all? Do you ever click through the banner ads? Yeah, I didn't think so. Shut up. You have to be a pretty big jackass to make a statement like that. The new site has been up less than a week, and it is already running 10x faster than it ever did for me(and a lot of other, so I have heard). It takes time to get everything put back together.

I'd like to see you do better, you ungrateful jerk.

If it's now so useless how bout you hunt down all the code/ideas you've taken away from here and remove them from your own projects. You obviously know better than anyone here.

Who said this is the end of the update process? It's slower YET, but I'm sure a large group of guys are working very hard to improve it. In fact converting the whole website with all it's articles from ASP to ASP.Net is such a big job that when I first read about it on Chris blog, I wouldn't believe it. I thought it might fail, but not only it didn't, but also all we have here to complain is that it's a bit slower and links changed from ~.asp to ~.aspx. This is a big success in itself. Thanks to CP admins for kipping this big pig up and running FREE OF ANY CHARGE. I'm sure when all servers return to usual state, and the job finishes completely, it will be much better than what it was, and better than that, since it has a good base; it will improve more quickly with less effort in a near feature. This whole thing, I think, is worth to give them our thanks, so maybe reading it they become more eager to continue their tedious job.

I'm really sorry to hear that. No I am. Really. That's terrible - I'm sure that Chris will roll everything back just for you. He's a reasonable guy, and I'm sure that he'll sleep better knowing that he's helped you by moving off this more maintainable, upgradable technology back to ASP3 just for you. I'm curious though. How is your complete rewrite of a site with 4million + members going? The users happy are they? Which would you say were your favourite articles? A complete guide to walking upright. Dribbling for beginners. Sesame Street's Elmo teaches COBOL. How I beat my diarrhoea and learned to love myself. Tell you what - when you can match the success that Chris and his highly underappreciated team have managed, then we'll all come and worship at your feet. Until then, Mr Maunder has my loyalty and support.
