Yes. I was startled myself. I have never wasted time worrying about such insignificant things. Keep your eye upon the donut and NOT upon the hole. - Bill Sergio about posting in the right forum. The Lounge - June 23, 2002

Yea, but have you read some of them? I mean, they are not exactly, err...., well written ;-) - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!"

All articles are pieces of ****. 1 point is too much. Bad article formatting, no real contents, no examples, no links work, etc... Chris, can you remove all this **** articles?

Yes, i read five of them and then gave up the good hope to see something good and interesting :) In my opinion these articles should be removed from CodeProject.

If the articles aren't great, then maybe they should just stay as "unedited user contributions". I'd be rilly insulted if I went to the trouble of writing and posting an article and then to be told, "it's krap, rather don't bother again." Just my 2 cents worth of a troll. SimonS wrote: The more articles the better for CP in general. Well, but now compare for example Planet Source Code and CodeProject. At CodeProject you find excellent, interesting, informative articles and at Planet Source Code, you can find excellent articles too, but there are so many "not so good" articles that it isn't really funny to browse through all the articles. SimonS wrote: If the articles aren't great, then maybe they should just stay as "unedited user contributions". This would be a solution... yes... X|

I think that if the articles hadn't been unedited that some of them wouldn't have made it. I;ve written some stuff aimed at students just starting to learn code that Chris rejected as being too simple for CP. Because VGirish chose to put them in unedited he can put in what he wants. At least that's the way I understand it. Besides somebody may find it useful and in the end that's why we write these things. It's certainly not for the glory or the trolling. Anthony

It seems that VGirish puts all his articles between < pre > tags so they get a nice yellow background :-D

Anthony, if you don't mind sharing could you tell me what these articles were? I am amazed that anything would be rejected at all. I haven't posted anything as everything seems to have already been done and I can't find something that would be useful to others that I can actually create with any real command. Also, thanks for the symapthy expressed below. I am too tired and need to get to bed now to respond to this thread and mine. Only if you use the submission wizard... You can also write the article and send it to chris, then it starts in the edited sections... - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!"

Chris and I used to get this all the time at CodeGuru and of course, Chris still gets it here. I personally don't think the "articles" are that bad. They just need to be edited such that the comments are moved into regular text so that there's something besides code. The editor then needs to add a few sentences here and there to "beef up the explanations" a bit. Not that big a deal. Probably would take about 15-20 minutes an article and these articles would be find a advertised - beginner-level tips. Cheers, Tom Archer Author - Inside C#, Visual C++.NET Bible
